Raised Bed BuilderAbout Raised Bed Builder
Raised Bed Builder is a free planner made by a small team of home gardeners and builders. We kept running into the same problem: one site tells you how much soil to buy, another gives a rough board count, and none of them put it all on one shopping list.
So we built one tool that does the whole job. Enter your beds and you get a cut list that wastes as little lumber as possible, the hardware, soil in real bag sizes, a bulk delivery comparison, drip line and a cost estimate you can adjust to your local prices.
How we keep it free
The planner is free to use with no account. In the future we may show ads to cover our costs. Ads never change the numbers the planner gives you.
Accuracy
Every number is an estimate for planning. Lumber, soil and prices vary, so check your measurements and product labels before you cut or buy. Found a mistake? Please tell us.
How we test
We tested the calculator ourselves on more than 30,000 bed designs. For every design, we double-checked the result against a separate calculator that we wrote from scratch, and checked that the plan makes physical sense: every cut fits on a board, every joint lands on a post, the walls close to the exact size, and the soil and costs add up. Even so, no tool is perfect. Lumber is not always true to size and prices change, so measure twice and check prices at your store.
